Once an icon, Syd Barrett has faded to memory for most as a mere madman who launched Pink Floyd through two albums, his own solo, and then vanished. But his story, and music, are much more than that.

Syd has perpetrated every medium we see and here, much like Pink Floyd themselves did after his departure. Syd’s world leaves nothing vacant or unanswered, no angst or distress remains, and despite perhaps being the king of psychedelia, his phrases and tunes are incredibly simple, joyful and direct.
